About the opportunity

Via is partnering with a major UK consumer business looking for an Enterprise Domain Architect to shape the technology strategy and architecture across its Commercial and Supply Chain functions.

This is a senior architecture role with significant influence across areas including merchandising, commercial planning, product, inventory and stock management.

You'll define the architectural vision for the domain, understand the current technology landscape and create a practical roadmap towards the target state. You'll work closely with senior business leaders, Product, Engineering and Delivery teams to make sure technology decisions support both immediate commercial priorities and longer-term transformation.

We're looking for someone who combines strong enterprise architecture expertise with genuine Commercial and Supply Chain domain knowledge. Retail experience would be particularly relevant, although candidates from adjacent consumer-led industries such as travel or consumer goods are also encouraged to apply.

What you'll be doing

  • Own the architecture vision for the Commercial and Supply Chain domain
  • Define and maintain current-state and target-state architecture
  • Develop strategic technology roadmaps alongside Business, Product and Delivery teams
  • Connect architectural decisions directly to business and commercial objectives
  • Balance long-term technology foundations with shorter-term business priorities
  • Identify and manage technical debt across the domain
  • Lead significant architectural and technology decisions
  • Assess architectural risks and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Represent Architecture in key business and technology forums
  • Partner closely with Commercial and Supply Chain leaders
  • Work with Product, Engineering and Delivery teams throughout implementation
  • Establish and promote clear architectural principles, patterns and standards
  • Ensure architectural decisions are understood and consistently adopted
  • Evaluate SaaS, cloud and other technology solutions
  • Assess how AI and emerging technologies could support future capabilities
  • Evaluate technology vendors and system integrators
  • Challenge vendors on their capabilities, architecture and product roadmaps
  • Influence vendor technical direction where appropriate
  • Stay ahead of technology trends affecting retail, commercial planning and supply chain
  • Mentor colleagues and strengthen architecture capability across the organisation
  • Continuously improve architecture processes and ways of working

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
