Enterprise Migrations Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Enterprise Migrations Engineer based in United Kingdom.

As an Enterprise Migrations Engineer, you will own the end-to-end migration of complex enterprise documentation into a modern documentation platform.

You will work with large and diverse content sets, transforming legacy wikis, PDFs, HTML, RST files, CMS exports, and other formats into clean, structured, reliable content.

The role combines hands-on scripting and automation with direct customer engagement, requiring both technical depth and strong communication skills.

You will build reusable tooling and processes that make every migration faster, more consistent, and easier to scale.

You will also help define a new migration function from the ground up, turning individual projects into repeatable workflows and best practices.

Working closely with Solutions Engineering, Account Management, and product teams, you will influence technical decisions and surface product opportunities based on real customer needs.

This is a highly autonomous opportunity for a pragmatic technical professional who enjoys solving messy problems and creating systems that make complex work simpler.

Accountabilities:

  • Own enterprise content migrations from initial scoping and customer communication through transformation, execution, validation, and final delivery.
  • Work directly with enterprise customers to understand their documentation structures, source systems, requirements, constraints, and migration goals.
  • Assess migration complexity, identify risks and dependencies, and establish realistic timelines and expectations with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute Python-based transformation scripts and automation to parse, normalize, restructure, and import content from diverse source formats.
  • Work with formats such as Markdown, RST, HTML, XML, PDF text extraction, Confluence exports, legacy wikis, custom CMS exports, and other structured or semi-structured content.
  • Use APIs and content synchronization capabilities to ingest and organize migrated documentation effectively.
  • Build reusable tooling, scripts, and pipelines so that lessons from each migration improve the speed and reliability of future projects.
  • Establish and continuously refine migration processes, documentation, quality checks, and repeatable playbooks for the emerging function.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Engineering during pre-sales to assess migration complexity, provide technical input, and inform deal strategy.
  • Identify recurring customer challenges and provide actionable feedback to product and engineering teams about capabilities that could be improved or built natively.
  • Balance technical quality, delivery speed, customer expectations, and long-term maintainability when choosing implementation approaches.
  • Proactively identify issues, communicate risks early, and take ownership of solving problems without relying on an established playbook.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Strong ability to parse, manipulate, normalize, and transform messy structured and semi-structured content at scale.
  • Hands-on Python experience for scripting, automation, data transformation, or similar technical workflows.
  • Familiarity with common documentation and data formats such as Markdown, RST, HTML, XML, PDF, or Confluence exports.
  • Comfortable working with APIs, Git, shell scripting, and basic data-wrangling tools.
  • Strong systems-thinking skills, with the ability to determine when a custom parser or automation solution is appropriate versus when an existing tool is sufficient.
  • Customer-facing experience and the confidence to communicate technical complexity, manage expectations, explain trade-offs, and handle challenging conversations professionally.
  • Strong ownership mindset and the ability to operate effectively when processes, tools, and responsibilities are still being defined.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset, with a strong preference for automation and reusable solutions over repeatedly performing manual work.
  • Pragmatic approach to engineering, with the ability to prioritize reliable, useful outcomes over unnecessary technical perfection.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple migration requirements and timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed international teams.
  • Experience with content management systems, structured content standards such as DITA or DocBook, developer tools, or documentation platforms is a plus but not required.
