About the Role

Our client is a global OEM embarking on a strategic transformation of its Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) capability. They are seeking a highly experienced leader to assess their current engineering landscape and define an enterprise strategy that harmonises product structures, engineering data and Bills of Materials (BOMs) across the complete product lifecycle.

This role is not focused on administering a PLM platform. Instead, you will work with senior engineering, manufacturing, service and IT stakeholders to review the current operating model, identify opportunities for improvement and develop a roadmap that creates a connected digital thread from product design through manufacturing, supply chain and aftermarket service.

You will be expected to provide strategic leadership, facilitate executive workshops and define a scalable target operating model that enables product data consistency, improved governance and seamless integration across enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Assessment

  • Assess the customer's current PLM landscape, engineering systems and product data architecture.
  • Review existing Engineering BOMs (EBOM), Manufacturing BOMs (MBOM) and Service BOMs (SBOM).
  • Evaluate engineering change management processes and product governance.
  • Assess organisational responsibilities, ownership and engineering operating models.
  • Identify inefficiencies, duplication and disconnected processes throughout the product lifecycle.

PLM & Engineering Strategy

  • Develop an enterprise PLM strategy aligned to business objectives.
  • Define a target operating model for Engineering, Manufacturing and Service.
  • Create an enterprise roadmap for harmonising product structures and BOMs.
  • Establish governance principles for engineering master data and product lifecycle management.
  • Define future-state engineering change processes and lifecycle governance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
