Raytheon UK is seeking an exceptional Programme Controls lead to join the Programme Controls Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Head of Programme Controls.

As a visible leader and Subject Matter Expert, you will combine strong technical expertise with exceptional leadership skills to raise Programme Controls maturity, embed best practice, and build trusted relationships across Mission Areas and Programme Leadership Teams. You will play a key role in delivering the Programme Controls & Business Intelligence strategy, ensuring confidence in programme reporting and decision-making from task level through to executive leadership.

In this role you will:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of Enterprise Controls and Business Intelligence capabilities, including Project Dashboards, Task Work Packages (TWP), and Connected Planning solutions.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the Programme Controls community.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Programme Controls teams, providing expert guidance on tools, processes, and ways of working.
  • Provide best practice support for bids, programme start-up activities, independent reviews, and major re-baselines to ensure programmes are RLPM compliant and delivery-ready, providing pro-start support where appropriate.
  • Partner with the Head of Programme Controls and Tools & Process Lead to share best practice, support existing tools, and help deliver new capabilities and innovations. In fact, you will be part of bringing new capability and tools to the team, using your skills to develop solutions where we find capability gaps that our customers or the business need.
  • Actively support the development of internal Programme Controls Training and work as part of the EPG Training Delivery Team for this. Your knowledge, skills, behaviours, and passion for sharing them, will contribute to building our Certification levels within Programme Controls.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve programme performance, challenge existing approaches where appropriate and drive the adoption of best practice across the business.
  • Help implement Programme Controls governance activities and be able to conduct independent reviews for business gate reviews.
  • Mentor and coach Programme Controls professionals, helping develop future talent and build organisational capability.
  • Undertake Future Line Management Responsibilities If Required.
  • Support or delegate for the Head of Programme Controls with additional duties as required.

  • Proven experience as a Project Controls Subject Matter Expert with deep and broad knowledge of Project Scheduling and Controls and Generally Accepted Scheduling Principles.
  • Proven ability to inspire, motivate and develop high-performing teams. You lead through action, build credibility through delivery and create an environment where people are encouraged to raise standards, solve problems and continuously improve.
  • Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Project, Power BI, Power Query, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM), programme metrics, and project controls methodologies.
  • Ability to support and guide Programme Leadership Teams, with an ability to speak up and bring Programme Controls to the room. Here your advocacy for good project controls will come to the fore and you will be able to influence outcomes to do the right thing and have the right conversation.
  • Commercial and Business awareness in a complex projects environment.
  • Eligible for or Holder of current SC security clearance.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • RTX Level 2 Project Controls Certification (or equivalent experience).
  • Knowledge of Risk & Opportunity Management processes.
  • Familiarity with RLPM and relevant industry, company, and customer standards.
  • Experience working across multiple domains in regulated environments.
  • Defence industry experience.
  • Relevant Project Controls Qualifications.
