Job Title: Enterprise Risk Implementation Manager
Company: North Co Recruitment
North Co Recruitment are working with an established UK financial services group to appoint an Enterprise Risk Implementation Manager into their Risk function on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a build role rather than a maintenance one - you'll be the person turning a new enterprise risk framework into something the business actually runs on, with the senior backing and visibility to shape how risk is owned right across the organisation.
What You'll Do
- Lead the rollout of the enterprise risk framework end to end, from key design decisions through to it being embedded in how the business operates day to day.
- Shape the governance structures, operating model and accountabilities that set out who owns which risks and how they're escalated.
- Build the core risk architecture, including the taxonomy, registers, assessment approach and the supporting system and data, that the business will rely on long after the programme closes.
- Drive genuine first-line ownership through RCSAs, controls design and testing, and a clear remediation cycle.
- Define risk appetite, tolerances and KRIs with senior stakeholders, and turn them into reporting that executives and the board can act on.
- Champion a strong risk culture through training and coaching, working across Finance, Operations, Compliance, operational resilience and third-party risk teams to make the framework stick.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
