The Risk Department at Marex

The department employs analytical tools to monitor and mitigate potential threats. By implementing robust risk management practices, the department contributes towards maintaining Marex’s overall financial stability.

Enterprise Risk Integration Manager

The Enterprise Risk Integration Manager serves as the central coordinator for Risk Department activity relating to acquisition integrations, strategic transformation initiatives, regulatory change and new business activities. The role holder will act as the Risk Department's delivery lead, translating strategic initiatives into clear business, regulatory, operational, technology, governance and risk requirements across all financial and non-financial risk disciplines. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the firm, they coordinate the design and implementation of target operating models, oversee departmental delivery commitments, and ensure the Risk function remains appropriately positioned to support the firm's strategic growth objectives.

The role combines enterprise risk expertise, transformation leadership and Risk COO type responsibilities, overseeing the delivery of target operating models and integration programmes across both financial and non-financial risk disciplines. The individual will work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure risks are proactively identified, assessed and managed, whilst maintaining alignment with the firm's governance frameworks, risk appetite and regulatory obligations.

A key requirement of the role is the ability to understand complex business models, financial products and trading activities, and to translate their associated risks into effective risk management frameworks, controls, monitoring capabilities and operating model solutions. The successful candidate will possess strong enterprise risk and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) expertise, enabling them to challenge business initiatives, influence strategic decision-making and drive successful execution of acquisition integrations and transformational change.

Whilst focused primarily on strategic delivery, integration and operational effectiveness, the role also provides targeted assurance over material change activities through controls testing, helping to ensure that change is delivered in a controlled and sustainable manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead control testing (design and operating effectiveness) across key controls that are implemented, changed or constrained during the course of change execution. This includes controls implemented pre-go-live and post-go-live.
  • Develop risk-based testing plans, scoping methodologies, and testing schedules in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Execute end-to-end controls testing activities, including walkthroughs, sample selection, evidence review, and documentation of results.
  • Assess control deficiencies, determine root causes, rate issues by severity, and recommend practical and sustainable remediation actions.
  • Work with Operational Risk to track remediation plans, validate closure of findings, and provide independent challenge where progress is insufficient.
  • Work with Operational Risk to update Risk and Control registers to accurately reflect the suite of controls being performed by Business Divisions and Control and Support functions following new change implementation, where it is identified during controls testing that the control documentation needs to be updated.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and dashboards where requested to feed into management reporting and relevant forums / committees.
  • Ensure controls testing methodologies, working papers, and evidence meet audit and regulatory standards and are consistently applied.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on controls assurance, advising the business on control design improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and embedding of Marex’s Change and Transformation Risk framework and methodologies.
  • Perform controls testing deep dives on processes as requested by Management.
  • Provide ad-hoc support and coverage for the team in relation to go-live assurance and closure reviews (when needed).
  • Work with other assurance departments to ensure alignment of control documentation and testing plans where relevant.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
