Referment
Referment is working with… a specialist financial technology business whose software helps large organisations identify transaction and supplier risks across their accounts-payable operations. Its solutions give finance teams better control over payment errors, fraud exposure and process inefficiency.
This is a new-business role for an enterprise salesperson who can engage senior finance stakeholders, understand complex operational and commercial problems, and build a credible case for technology-led change. You will work closely with marketing, business development and pre-sales colleagues throughout the sales process, while bringing market and customer insight back into the wider business.
The Role
- Develop trusted relationships with senior finance leaders through a consultative, customer-focused sales approach.
- Explore prospective customers’ financial-control and accounts-payable challenges, then translate those needs into relevant solution strategies.
- Lead presentations and commercial conversations that connect software capabilities with measurable business outcomes.
- Build proposals with marketing, business development and pre-sales colleagues and progress opportunities through to close.
- Deliver against enterprise new-business revenue targets and help turn successful customers into advocates.
- Share customer feedback with product and commercial teams to inform future development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
