Enterprise Systems Consultant
This is a senior technology advisory role focused on helping investors and business leaders make high-impact decisions about enterprise systems and technology operations.
You will lead technology diligence and value-creation engagements, often in fast-moving transaction environments where clear judgment and practical expertise are essential.
Your work will span enterprise applications, business processes, infrastructure, managed services, data, controls, and operating models.
You will assess complex technology environments, identify the issues that materially affect transactions or transformation plans, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
You will work directly with investors, boards, executives, and management teams, communicating technical conclusions in clear business terms.
Beyond diligence, you may develop post-close technology roadmaps, support vendor selections, govern transformation programs, or step into interim leadership assignments.
The role offers significant autonomy and variety, with opportunities to collaborate with specialists across cybersecurity, data and AI, software, integration, and carve-out services.
Accountabilities
- Lead sell-side technology diligence engagements, including evidence review, management interviews, buyer-readiness assessments, remediation priorities, and responses to buyer questions.
- Lead buy-side technology diligence, assessing enterprise systems, infrastructure, organizations, vendors, contracts, technology spend, scalability, resilience, and future investment requirements.
- Evaluate ERP, warehouse management, WMS, CRM, PSA, and related enterprise applications, including process fit, customization, integrations, data quality, reporting, controls, adoption, licensing, vendor support, and lifecycle risks.
- Assess end-to-end business processes such as order-to-cash, project-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, month-end close, recruit-to-retire, warehouse operations, fulfillment, and IT service management.
- Conduct process walkthroughs, management and user interviews, evidence reviews, and operating-metric analysis to identify weak handoffs, control gaps, manual workarounds, data issues, key-person dependencies, and scalability constraints.
- Assess traditional and hybrid infrastructure, including data centers, colocation, networks, identity, end-user computing, backup, disaster recovery, hybrid cloud, and migration of packaged applications to cloud infrastructure.
- Evaluate MSP and MSSP arrangements, including service scope, pricing, contracts, service levels, operational performance, transition risks, and governance.
- Assess IT operating procedures covering service desk operations, incidents, problems, changes, access management, onboarding and offboarding, asset management, configuration management, escalation, and service-level reporting.
- Identify and quantify material technology investments, including system replacements, deferred upgrades, infrastructure remediation, provider transitions, and additional staffing or capability requirements.
- Translate technical and operational findings into concise, evidence-based conclusions relevant to investment theses and understandable to senior non-technical stakeholders.
- Develop practical post-close technology and systems roadmaps, and where appropriate support vendor selection, delivery governance, operational improvements, or interim leadership requirements.
- Collaborate with specialists across cybersecurity, data and AI, product and software, integration, and carve-out services when deeper expertise is required.
- Contribute to methodologies, benchmarks, training, and service development based on client and operational experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
