Entrepreneurial General Radiologist – Ultrasound Service & Potential Joint Venture
Location: CP Medical Clinic, Chelsea, London
Commitment: Flexible regular sessions, including evenings and Sundays

About the Opportunity
CP Medical Clinic is looking for an entrepreneurial General Radiologist with strong experience in abdominal, pelvic, and general diagnostic ultrasound to help establish, develop, and grow a regular private ultrasound service at our established multidisciplinary medical clinic in Chelsea.
This is not intended to be a conventional ad-hoc sessional radiology position. We are looking for someone who is clinically experienced but also has the ambition and enthusiasm to help build and develop a service, with the potential to become a clinical partner in a future standalone diagnostic imaging business.
We already have an MSK radiologist joining our team, alongside an orthopaedic doctor. We are now looking for a general radiologist who can complement these services by providing a broad range of general diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
Clinical Experience
Ideally, the successful candidate will be comfortable independently performing and reporting the following examinations:
- Abdominal ultrasound
- Pelvic ultrasound, including transabdominal examinations
- Renal and urinary tract ultrasound
- Thyroid and neck ultrasound
- Soft-tissue and superficial lump ultrasound
- Testicular/scrotal ultrasound
Experience in transvaginal pelvic ultrasound would be particularly welcome.
We do not expect one individual to personally perform every type of scan we may eventually offer. However, we are looking for someone with broad general ultrasound experience who can help establish a reliable and comprehensive diagnostic service.
Professional Requirements
We welcome applications from:
- Consultant Radiologists on the GMC Specialist Register in Clinical Radiology.
- Suitably experienced senior Radiology Registrars who are competent to independently perform ultrasound examinations and issue final diagnostic reports within their recognised scope of practice and appropriate clinical governance arrangements.

All applicants must hold full GMC registration with a current licence to practise and have appropriate professional indemnity covering their proposed private practice.
They must also be able to demonstrate relevant ultrasound training, practical experience, and reporting competence.
The Entrepreneurial Opportunity
Our intention is to initially incubate the ultrasound service within CP Medical Clinic, using our existing premises, infrastructure, patient base, and administrative support.
We are not seeking any financial investment from the radiologist. Instead, we are looking for someone willing to contribute their clinical expertise, regular availability, ideas, professional network, and entrepreneurial energy.
The successful candidate would initially provide regular ultrasound sessions at the clinic, potentially during weekday evenings, Sundays, or other mutually agreed times. We are flexible regarding the timetable, but consistency and reliability are important as we intend to establish a regular service rather than offer occasional ad-hoc scanning sessions.
If the service develops successfully, there is the potential to expand it substantially and explore establishing a separate diagnostic imaging business through a joint venture.
The precise commercial structure would be discussed with the successful candidate.
Helping Us Grow the Service
We are looking for someone who wants to do more than simply attend the clinic, perform scans, and leave.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, commercially aware, and interested in helping develop the service. This could include:
- Developing relationships with local GPs, consultants, and other referring clinicians.
- Helping identify opportunities to expand the range of diagnostic examinations offered.
- Contributing to patient education and professional social media content.
- Being comfortable appearing in short educational videos and helping establish the profile of the service.
- Helping us develop a wider clinical team as demand increases, potentially introducing additional radiologists, specialist sonographers, and echocardiographers.
- Contributing to the clinical and strategic development of the service.

Previous social media experience is not essential, but a willingness to be visible and actively involved in developing the service is important.
