Entry Level Business Manager | Birmingham | Immediate Start
Graduated recently and found the job hunt harder than anyone warned you? Sent out application after application and heard almost nothing back? Or perhaps you're already working but stuck somewhere with no room to grow, no proper mentoring and no clear route upward.
If any of that rings true, this is worth two minutes of your time.
Hiring across Birmingham has tightened. Businesses are trimming teams, roles are drawing far more applicants than before, and automation keeps reshaping what work is even on offer. Sage is doing the opposite. We're growing, and we're growing fast. Over the past 6 months we've moved into three new markets, and before this year closes we're opening in two more major UK cities. That expansion needs people we can train from the ground up and promote into real responsibility.
Why the growth? Because we've built our business around the one thing software can't replicate: proper human relationships. As automation strips the personal touch out of how companies win customers, more and more businesses are paying for genuine face-to-face representation instead. Demand for what we do keeps climbing, and we need ambitious people ready to learn the craft and help lead the next stage.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you'll actually learn
This is a working route into managing a business, not a course you sit through. Inside your first month you'll be taking the lead on live campaigns. You'll build practical commercial knowledge across customer acquisition and sales, marketing and conversion, day-to-day operations, budgeting, account management and team leadership. The whole picture, from front-line management up to the decisions that shape a business.
More than any single skill, we develop the way you think. You'll learn to read the numbers, own your results, back your own judgement and act on opportunity rather than wait for it. If that instinct is already in you, this is where it gets sharpened.
The package
Competitive base salary, with regular performance bonuses and incentives tied directly to your own results. One-to-one coaching from senior managers and consultants who've done the job, plus access to our full library of management training modules.
Your progression
Trainee Business Manager, covering leadership basics and campaign management. Junior Manager, moving into the back end: recruitment, onboarding, performance tracking, client reporting and campaign budgets. Senior Manager, running a team, holding client budgets, making hiring calls and taking on real profit and loss responsibility. You earn each step by hitting the mark, not by clocking months.

Beyond the desk
Regular team socials around central Birmingham. Networking sessions with senior consultants who share how they got there. Fully funded travel for top performers, with past trips taking the team well beyond the West Midlands.
Who we're after
Fresh graduates and career-driven people with a business head, a strong work ethic and real ambition. A background in leadership or competitive sport tends to translate well here, so if that's you, even better. This isn't a nine-to-five you switch off from. It's a career you build, and one you could eventually run.
This is an immediate start role, though we'll happily consider notice periods of up to four weeks for the right person.
Apply now. We're interviewing this week.
