Salary Birmingham: Base salary: £32,050pa to c£37,700pa depending on skills and experience

Environment Advisor
As an Environment Advisor you’ll support the Head of Environment Route-wide in discharging their duties. The role specifically supports through managing special environmental projects, preparing management information, presentation material and undertaking secretariat duties at senior management/stakeholder meeting.
About the role:
- Secretariat duties to support the Head of Environment Route-wide at both senior internal and external meetings
- Manipulation and preparation of environment management information for use in correspondence and presentations
- Preparation of presentation material and environmental reporting dashboards required for business reporting and external meetings
- Lead on specific environmental projects as directed by the Head of Environment Route-wide to facilitate the support TSDD provides to Delivery Units
- Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work. Support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
About You:
Skills:
- Problem solving: ability to identify complex problems, review, analyse and interpret a wide range of information and evaluate options with support.
- Decision making: ability to gather and synthesise information and, with support, identify options and apply judgement based on logic and reason with a variety of analytical approaches to provide relevant information to support decision making.
- Technical capability: appreciation of the full range of environmental technical specialism’s deployed across project, and work with these to provide information that supports decision making.
- Communication skills: ability to communicate and convey discipline-specific technical ideas to colleagues
- Communication skills: confidence in speaking with senior managers or groups across HS2 to obtain information and/or convey issues or problems
- Communication skills: ability to collate and present complex technical data in clear and concise manner
- Organisation skills: excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing tasks to time and quality.

Knowledge:
- Awareness of the HS2 Project
- Awareness of HS2 Act and appreciation of wider environmental legislation relevant to the Project
- Membership of an appropriate professional institution or the equivalent experience
Experience:
- Experience of working within multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental teams on large complex major projects/ programmes within a complex infrastructure programme
- Experience of working within a fast paced environment where there are competing project, engineering and environmental demands that have cost and schedule implications.
