The role
Are you passionate about the environment and ready to take your first step into a career that truly makes a difference? We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Environment Assistant to support the Ceredigion Environment Team in delivering sustainable natural resource management across Ceredigion.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will be the backbone of the team - handling everything from managing procurement, processing compliance data, and responding to public enquiries. You will gain hands-on experience in regulatory processes, conservation work, pollution response, and more - all while contributing to the wellbeing of communities and the environment.
Driving is essential to this role as it is based in a rural location with poor public transport links and site visits are required. You must hold a full and current UK driving license.
As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the NRW office at the above location and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.
To make an informal enquiry about this role, please contact Carol Fielding at carol.fielding@cyfoethnaturiolcymru.gov.uk
Interviews will be face to face (details of location will be shared in advance)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
