Job Role Description

An Advanced Environment, Climate and Regulatory Engineer supports effective execution of environmental management and regulatory compliance standards, processes, and tools for a project or operating facility. This role involves working independently on complex projects, solving routine issues with minimal guidance, and making impactful decisions informed by experience and team perspectives.   • Core expertise in environmental practices, regulatory compliance, and sustainability standards
  • Specialized knowledge such as permitting aligned with business requirements

Responsibilities

Compliance & Coordination

  • Perform routine environmental and regulatory compliance activities, including managing related data for permitting, compliance, processes, and programs
  • Coordinate information gathering, respond to regulatory agency inquiries, and support permit applications
  • Provide input on improving consistency and efficiency in compliance programs, such as environmental aspect/impact assessments and environmental business planning

Advocacy & Communication

  • Advocate for responsible and sustainable business practices, clearly articulating technical and business impacts during regulatory and governmental engagements
  • Communicate the company’s position at a local governmental agency level (e.g., permitting interface with a Department of Environmental Quality)

Implementation & Leadership

  • Lead the implementation of appropriate environmental and regulatory practices, focusing on impact avoidance, mitigation, and compliance improvement
  • (May) Lead environmental business planning efforts or environmental aspect assessments for sites or projects
