Hays are delighted to be working with a local council to recruit an experienced Environment Coordinator on an interim basis to support the delivery of a major transport and infrastructure programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the development of a significant light rail extension project, ensuring environmental requirements are successfully managed throughout the design, planning and consenting phases. The successful candidate will work closely with programme delivery teams, technical consultants, contractors and stakeholders to coordinate environmental activities and support the production of key environmental documentation.

The Role

As Environment Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing environmental activities associated with a major transport infrastructure project. A key focus of the role will be ensuring the successful development and delivery of the Environmental Statement, coordinating environmental assessments and surveys, and ensuring environmental requirements are fully integrated into project design and planning activities.

You will provide technical expertise and work collaboratively with delivery teams and specialist consultants to support planning, consenting and compliance activities while helping to ensure programme objectives are achieved within agreed timescales.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
