Health & Safety Manager
Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a successful and growing operational business to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of H&S across their Leeds site.
This is a hands-on, site-based role with genuine autonomy and the opportunity to shape and develop the company's Health & Safety function. You'll work closely with Directors, senior management and operational teams across warehouse, distribution, transport and manufacturing environments.
The Role
- Take overall ownership of Health & Safety across the site
- Develop and promote a positive Health & Safety culture
- Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation and best practice
- Develop and maintain risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work
- Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations
- Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews
- Manage corrective actions and drive continuous improvement
- Oversee H&S training, competency and occupational health requirements
- Manage contractor safety, including RAMS
- Support warehouse, transport, machinery and workplace safety
- Produce H&S reports, KPIs and recommendations for senior management
- Identify opportunities to improve processes through digital technology and AI
- Support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives

About You
We're looking for a practical, confident and proactive H&S professional who is comfortable being visible on the shop floor and challenging unsafe practices when required.
You'll ideally have:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- At least 5 years' Health & Safety experience
- Previous H&S management experience
- Experience within manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, distribution or another operational environment
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation
- Experience with risk assessments, audits and incident investigations
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Good Microsoft 365 and reporting skills
- Full UK driving licence

Environmental experience, workplace transport/FLT knowledge and experience with Power BI or digital compliance systems would be advantageous.
