Environmental Health & Safety Lead

Location: Cornwall

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 + Bonus

Relocation: £8,000 relocation allowance available

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Lead to join a well-established manufacturing business in Cornwall. This is a key site-based position, combining responsibility for the day-to-day EHS function with the opportunity to lead continuous improvement projects and further develop the site's safety culture.

Working closely with the wider leadership and operational teams, you will provide hands-on EHS leadership across the manufacturing operation while managing and developing one HSE Advisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day Environmental, Health & Safety function across the site.
  • Drive improvements in site safety culture, standards, and behaviours.
  • Lead and support EHS continuous improvement projects and wider site initiatives.
  • Coach and develop one HSE Advisor.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations teams to identify and reduce risk.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain and continuously improve EHS systems, procedures, and compliance.
  • Provide practical EHS guidance and coaching to employees and site leadership.

About You:

We’re looking for a seasoned HSE/EHS professional with experience operating within a manufacturing, engineering, or similarly fast-paced environment. You’ll be comfortable balancing hands-on day-to-day responsibilities with longer-term improvement projects and influencing stakeholders across all levels of the business.

Previous leadership or mentoring experience would be advantageous, alongside a recognised Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH or equivalent.
