Drive Environmental Excellence Across Major Infrastructure Projects

As our Environmental Specialist, you'll play a key role in ensuring Capital Delivery projects are delivered in a way that protects the environment, meets regulatory requirements and supports Cadent's commitment to continuous improvement. This isn't just about compliance – it's about providing expert advice, influencing positive behaviours and helping drive environmental best practice across complex project portfolios.

Working closely with Capital Delivery teams and our supply chain partners, you'll act as a trusted environmental advisor, supporting project teams to identify and manage environmental risks, improve performance and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and standards.

This is a highly collaborative role where you'll combine technical expertise, stakeholder engagement and performance improvement to help deliver safe, sustainable and environmentally responsible outcomes across Cadent's projects.

This role comes with a company car and, as regular travel will be required, a full UK driving licence is essential.

  • Policy & Standards Development – Support the development and implementation of environmental policies, standards and guidance.

What You'll Bring

  • Environmental Expertise – Experience delivering environmental management support within utilities, infrastructure, construction or regulated industries.
  • Legislative Knowledge – Strong understanding of environmental legislation, permits and compliance requirements.
  • ISO 14001 Experience – Knowledge of environmental management systems, auditing and assurance processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Ability to influence and build strong relationships with project teams, contractors and regulatory bodies.
  • Performance Analysis – Experience developing performance measures, reporting and environmental improvement initiatives.
  • Incident Investigation Support – Experience supporting investigations and implementing lessons learned.
  • Communication Skills – Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

  • Recognised environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA, ISEP, NEBOSH Environmental Management or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving licence.
