JOB TITLE: ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISOR

Location: Glasgow (with travel to surrounding areas)
Division: Environment

ABOUT US

Our Environment Business provides ‘source to sea’ asset delivery capability across the UK and Scotland, delivering both framework and standalone projects.

Since AMP3, we have delivered more than £2bn of assets for clients including Yorkshire Water, United Utilities, Anglian Water, Thames Water, Southern Water, Welsh Water, and Scottish Water. As one of the UK's leading contractors in the water and environmental sector, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business delivering critical infrastructure projects across the country.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As Environmental Advisor, you will support the Framework HS&E Manager in delivering environmental excellence across our projects and operations.

You will work closely with operational teams to implement environmental strategy, ensure compliance with management systems and legislation, and drive continuous improvement across environmental performance. This role offers the opportunity to influence projects from planning through to delivery while supporting sustainable outcomes for our clients and communities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support the implementation of environmental strategy and continuous improvement initiatives across the framework.
  • Provide environmental advice and guidance to project and operational teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental management systems, client requirements, and relevant legislation.
  • Promote best practice and represent the HS&E function in meetings, workshops, and audits.
  • Monitor environmental performance, analyse trends, and support improvement actions.
  • Engage with clients, supply chain partners, regulators, and internal stakeholders on environmental matters.
  • Support the investigation of environmental incidents, non-conformities, and corrective actions.
  • Identify and escalate environmental risks and concerns where appropriate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
