Aureos are seeking an Environmental Advisor to join our growing energy team in Bathgate.
Summary
The role is to provide technical support to one of our projects.
Day to day tasks will include:
- Coordinate pre-construction environmental assessments (e.g. ecology surveys, archaeology surveys) and advise on the programming of works in relation to constraints observed
- Manage waste records used to populate Aureos and client decarbonisation tools
- Coordinate the acquisition of permits from environmental regulators (e.g. waste management licences for yards)
- On rebuild OHL projects, support project teams to discharge Section 37 planning conditions
- Conduct inspections of active work zones, and audits of key environmental documentation
- Support delivery of business wide sustainability targets
Qualifications And Training
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- An Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, or a related field, preferably a post graduate qualification, coupled with experience in a relevant industry (e.g. infrastructure, environmental / planning/ statutory body/ consultancy dealing with major consenting projects).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Member of Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) or similar professional body.
- Applicable CSCS Card.

Knowledge
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an environmental focussed role, preferably in the infrastructure sector.
- In-depth knowledge of UK wide environmental regulations, standards, and best practices. Experience in the electrical utilities industry is desirable.
- Proven experience in conducting environmental assessments and developing management plans to help discharge conditions of planning consents.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to multiple projects simultaneously.
- Where projects are located in remote locations, such as in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, occasional overnight stays away from home may be necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- IT literate and a comprehensive understanding of Windows based programmes to include Word, Excel and Outlook. Capability to produce maps using QGIS would be an advantage.
