Environmental Advisor – All Levels

Whether you are starting to build your career in environmental compliance or are an experienced Environmental Advisor looking for a new challenge, we want to hear from you.
Our client is looking to strengthen their QSSHE team in Norwich and is open to candidates at all levels of experience, from those with around 1 year of relevant environmental experience through to highly experienced Environmental Advisors.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within the offshore oil and gas sector, supporting both onshore and offshore assets and working alongside experienced environmental and QSSHE professionals.
The Role
As an Environmental Advisor, you will support the business in maintaining high environmental standards, ensuring regulatory compliance and helping to identify and manage environmental risks.
Depending on your level of experience, your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting environmental compliance across onshore and offshore operations.
- Assisting with environmental permits, reporting and regulatory submissions.
- Supporting environmental inspections, audits and assessments.
- Monitoring environmental performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Providing environmental advice and guidance to operational and multidisciplinary teams.
- Supporting environmental planning and risk management.
- Assisting with incident investigations and environmental improvement initiatives.
- Contributing to environmental management systems and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Supporting regulatory compliance relating to emissions, OPPC, ETS, chemicals and other environmental legislation.
- Working with internal stakeholders, contractors and regulators to deliver positive environmental outcomes.
- Supporting environmental activities associated with operations, projects and, where applicable, decommissioning.

What We're Looking For
We are interested in speaking with environmental professionals at different stages of their careers. You may have:
- Around 1+ year of relevant environmental experience, or significant academic/graduate experience combined with relevant environmental knowledge.
- Experience within oil and gas, energy, engineering, manufacturing, chemicals, utilities, nuclear, renewables or another highly regulated industry.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- An understanding of environmental legislation, compliance and environmental risk management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with different teams and stakeholders.
- A proactive approach and genuine interest in developing your environmental career.
For More Experienced Candidates
For candidates with more extensive experience, additional experience in the following areas would be highly advantageous:
- Offshore upstream oil and gas operations.
- Offshore production, subsea, drilling and well intervention.
- UK offshore environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
- OPPC, ETS and chemical permitting.
- Environmental reporting systems such as PORTAL, EEMS and ETSWAP.
- SECR and emissions management.
- ISO 14001 environmental management systems and auditing.
- NORM management and Risk Performance Standards (RPS).
- Incident Management Teams and environmental incident response.
- Environmental budgeting and performance management.
- Membership of IEMA or an equivalent professional body.
- BOSIET/FOET certification for offshore access.

The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious environmental professional to gain exposure to a complex, highly regulated operating environment while working with an experienced QSSHE team. For an experienced candidate, the role offers the opportunity to take ownership of significant environmental compliance activities and influence environmental performance across the business.
The role is based in Norwich, Monday to Friday, with occasional offshore visits to operational platforms and onshore terminals.
