Historic England has a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Environmental Economist.
This is a full-time, permanent contract.
The location of this role is London, with hybrid working.

What you will be doing
This role combines environmental analysis with economic appraisal to support the development of a robust evidence base on the environmental and economic value of the historic environment. In the role, you will:
- Apply social and economic analytical techniques to environmental challenges such as climate change, biodiversity and natural capital
- Support policy development and decision-making
- Work with senior analysts to contribute to research, evaluation and the development of innovative approaches including natural capital accounting and the Culture and Heritage Capital framework
Who we are looking for
- Understanding of environmental or ecological economic principles
- Proficiency of quantitative approaches
- Experience of statistical software e.g. R studio; Stata; Python
- Degree in economics, environmental science, geography or related discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
