Environmental Health Officer

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Environmental Health team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy and supportive team that plays a vital role in protecting public health, supporting local businesses, and improving the quality of life for our residents.
About The Role
As an Environmental Health Officer, you will contribute to the delivery of a wide range of regulatory and advisory services.
Responsibilities May Include
- Investigating complaints and service requests.
- Conducting inspections and enforcement activities.
- Providing advice and guidance to businesses and residents.
- Supporting the protection of public health and environmental standards.
- Working with partner agencies to resolve complex issues.
- Preparing reports, correspondence and legal documentation where required.
- Contributing to service improvement initiatives and projects.
You Will Have
- A BSc or MSc in Environmental Health.
- Registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board.
- Experience of delivering Environmental Health services.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and enforcement practices.
- Experience of managing complex cases and investigations.
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to make sound professional judgements and decisions.
