Construction & Development Health & Safety Lead | London / Ireland
Our client is a fast-growing specialist hyperscale data centre developer, delivering major digital infrastructure projects across the UK, Nordics and Europe.
They are seeking a senior Construction & Development H&S Lead to take ownership of safety across the full project lifecycle — from design and ground-breaking through construction, commissioning and operational handover.
The Opportunity
- Lead construction EHS strategy, risk management and safety standards across major capital projects.
- Champion Safety in Design and ensure construction and operational risks are addressed early.
- Oversee high-risk activities including lifting, temporary works, excavation, structural works, working at height and commissioning.
- Lead contractor assurance, RAMS/CPP reviews, audits, safety walks and competency management.
- Drive incident investigation, RCA/CAPA, leading indicators and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, European/Nordic legislation, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Lead H&S through testing, commissioning and final handover into Operations.
- Build a strong, proactive safety culture across international project teams.

About You
- 10+ years' EHS experience across hyperscale data centres, critical infrastructure, industrial construction or similar.
- Degree-qualified with additional professional EHS qualifications; IOSH, CSP or equivalent advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge of complex construction risks and major capital projects.
- Proven experience working with principal contractors and international workforces.
- Confident influencing senior stakeholders and challenging contractor performance.
- Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and European/Nordic H&S requirements.
- Comfortable travelling extensively across the UK, Nordics and Europe.
- Experience in writing robust policies
