Are you an experienced EHS professional looking to take ownership of Environmental, Health & Safety within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment?
We’re working with an established pharmaceutical Manufacturer to recruit an EHS Lead for its manufacturing site in Livingston. This is a highly visible role where you’ll take responsibility for coordinating the site’s EHS and sustainability programme, supporting regulatory compliance and driving continuous improvement across the facility.
The Role
You’ll act as a key EHS specialist on site, working closely with operational and leadership teams to:
- Own and support site EHS & Sustainability programmes
- Conduct and improve risk assessments and drive effective CAPAs
- Maintain EHS management systems, policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation
- Manage and develop COSHH processes and chemical assessments
- Support waste management and environmental sustainability initiatives
- Provide EHS advice, guidance and training to operational teams
- Maintain regulatory/legal registers and stay ahead of changing requirements
- Support emergency response planning
- Build effective relationships with relevant regulators
- Lead and support site and group-level EHS projects

What We’re Looking For
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- 2+ years’ experience within safety, environmental or engineering-related positions
- Knowledge of chemical, pharmaceutical and/or environmental processes
- A degree in Environmental, Safety, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physical Sciences, Biology, Toxicology or a related discipline — or significant equivalent EHS experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and drive improvements
- Professional EHS certification such as IOSH, CSP, CIH, CHMM or CHCM would be advantageous
