Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental management across major UK infrastructure projects.

You will provide expert environmental advice to project teams, ensuring compliance with legislation, permits, and environmental commitments. You will lead the Environmental Management team, manage environmental risks, and help drive high standards of environmental performance across the project.

This is a UK-wide role, with projects located across the country, so regular travel and working away from home may be required.

  • Implement and maintain the project’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Ensure project teams understand and follow environmental requirements, management plans, and procedures.
  • Maintain environmental registers, including impacts, aspects, and legal requirements.
  • Manage and update the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) as the project develops.
  • Plan and oversee environmental inspections, audits, and monitoring programmes.
  • Investigate environmental issues and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Manage environmental permits, consents, and approvals, working closely with clients, designers, and regulators.
  • Provide environmental input into design, construction, RAMS, and HAZID processes to reduce environmental risks.
  • Lead the response to significant environmental incidents and support investigations where required.
  • Develop and deliver environmental training, communications, and awareness programmes.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and regulators, including the Environment Agency, SEPA, and Local Planning Authorities.
  • Prepare and oversee environmental performance reports.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and environmental performance improvements across projects.
  • Promote best practice and continuous improvement in environmental management.
  • Provide environmental support, audits, and incident investigation assistance to other projects when required.
  • Deputise for the Head of Environment & Sustainability when required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
