Welcome to the Future of Nuclear Energy

Welcome to the future of nuclear energy, where Westinghouse Electric Company is leading the field with expertise and innovation to shape the power of tomorrow.

At Westinghouse, innovation is in our DNA. We are creative. We think differently. We reimagine the possible across the nuclear industry every day.

About the Role

As an Environmental Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance, delivering practical, day-to-day support to maintain adherence to the site's environmental permit at a nuclear licensed manufacturing facility in Preston.

This is a critical role, there is currently no dedicated Environment Team, and you will work closely and report to the Head of Environment to address urgent compliance needs while helping to establish, onboard, and develop a new environmental function. We need someone who can hit the ground running, working at pace to review, improve, and embed processes while supporting the Head of Environment to build a capable and resilient team.

You have extensive experience in environmental permitting within a nuclear or other highly regulated industry and be comfortable balancing strategic work with hands-on operational tasks.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, can take ownership of key deliverables, and is eager to drive long-term compliance improvements while supporting the creation of a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

Environmental Permit Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with the site's environmental permit and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and improve environmental compliance processes.
  • Provide practical guidance on permit requirements to operational teams.
  • Identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits, and regulator engagement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
