Responsibilities

Environmental Markets Sales Executive

Location: London

Hybrid work: Full-time office-based during probation, then 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum plus commission

Main Duties

The role will focus on developing new business across environmental and carbon markets, commodities and renewable energy, while building and maintaining strong client relationships.

The Role

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across environmental and carbon markets.
  • Prospect potential clients through outbound sales, networking, referrals and industry events.
  • Build and manage a personal sales pipeline from initial contact through to close.
  • Develop relationships with businesses affected by EU ETS, UK ETS, carbon pricing, carbon offsetting and renewable energy.
  • Conduct consultative sales conversations with senior stakeholders across sustainability, finance, energy, procurement and trading.
  • Present environmental markets and advisory solutions clearly to prospective clients.
  • Manage and develop long-term client relationships.
  • Work closely with trading, advisory and operations teams to develop tailored client solutions.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales pipeline information.
  • Attend relevant industry events to generate leads and strengthen market presence.

Candidate's Profile

  • Experience in environmental markets, carbon markets, commodities, energy trading, FX or a closely related financial/energy markets environment is essential.
  • Experience in EU ETS, UK ETS, carbon trading, Voluntary Carbon Markets, carbon pricing or renewable energy is highly desirable.
  • Previous B2B sales, business development, trading, brokerage or client relationship experience, with a strong focus on new business.
  • Proven ability to build a pipeline, develop prospects and convert opportunities into clients.
  • Strong commercial awareness and confidence discussing technically complex products.
  • Genuine interest in carbon markets, environmental commodities and the energy transition.
  • Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Proactive, organised and target-driven.
  • Fluent business English is essential.
  • Additional European language, particularly Portuguese, Spanish, Italian or Greek, is advantageous but not essential.

Salary

Up to £60,000 basic salary per annum, depending on experience, plus commission and a competitive benefits package including private health insurance
