Environmental Protection Officer

Lancashire Based Council
6-Month Contract
£35-£45 per hour (DOE)
37 Hours Per Week
Hybrid Working – 3 Days On Site
Start Within the Next 2 Weeks

Vivid Resourcing are currently working with Lancashire Based Council who are looking to appoint an experienced Environmental Protection Officer on an interim 6-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy local authority team and work across a broad range of Environmental Protection functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigation and enforcement of statutory nuisance complaints.
  • Noise nuisance investigations.
  • Pollution control and environmental permitting.
  • Private water supplies.
  • Planning consultations.
  • General environmental protection duties.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a local authority Environmental Protection team.
  • Strong knowledge of Environmental Protection legislation and enforcement.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.

Please Note

The council is open to candidates with experience across all areas of Environmental Protection, mostly being:

  • Planning and Licensing Consultations
  • Environmental Permitting Inspections and Complaints
  • ASB / Statutory nuisance complaints – Commercial and domestic
  • Public health complaints
  • Private Water Supplies

Contract Details

  • 6-month initial contract with potential extension.
  • 37 hours per week.
  • Hybrid working arrangement with 3 days per week on site.
  • Competitive rate of £35-£45 per hour, dependent on experience.
  • Interviews taking place immediately with a view to start within the next two weeks.
