About The Role
Environmental Reporting Advisor
Up to 22 months fixed term contract/secondment
37 hours per week
Salary £31,960 - £37,600 (depending on Experience)
Location: Pity Me, Durham
About The Role
Are you passionate about using environmental data to drive positive change and support sustainable business outcomes? We are looking for an Environmental Reporting Advisor to help deliver high-quality environmental reporting and insights that support regulatory compliance, business governance and strategic decision-making.
Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will collect, analyse and interpret environmental data, producing meaningful reports, dashboards and performance metrics that track progress against environmental objectives and sustainability commitments. You will identify trends, risks and opportunities, providing recommendations that help improve environmental performance and support informed business decisions.
The role will also involve supporting ESG reporting requirements, developing and maintaining environmental policies and processes, and providing specialist advice to colleagues and project teams. You will play a key role in improving data quality, reporting systems and processes, ensuring environmental information is accurate, reliable and accessible.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills, a passion for sustainability and the ability to turn complex environmental data into clear and actionable insights that make a real difference across the business.
About You
We are seeking a motivated and analytical individual with experience in environmental reporting, data analysis and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and managing reporting programmes, coordinating complex projects and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
- Comfortable working with large volumes of environmental and performance data, with the ability to analyse, interpret and present findings in a clear and meaningful way.
- Strong technical skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solution-focused approach, strong professional integrity and a keen eye for detail.

We are looking for someone with a degree-level qualification, or equivalent relevant experience, along with an understanding of environmental management systems, particularly ISO 14001 and audit processes. Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and sustainability performance reporting would be highly advantageous.
Most importantly, you will be passionate about using data and reporting to support environmental performance, drive continuous improvement and help deliver sustainable business outcomes.
