Salary: £32,155 - £35,026 per annum

Grade: 6

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Portway Depot, Andover

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our successful Environmental Services Enforcement Team. As an Environmental Services Officer, you will play a vital role in tackling environmental crime across the borough, helping to maintain clean, attractive neighbourhoods for our residents, visitors and businesses.

At Test Valley, we take a proactive approach to environmental enforcement and have a zero-tolerance stance on offences such as fly-tipping, littering and abandoned vehicles. We are looking for a motivated, organised and resilient individual who thrives in a varied and rewarding role and can work both independently and as part of a supportive team.

  • Respond to reports of environmental crime and carry out site visits and inspections across the borough
  • Gather evidence and prepare case files for prosecution
  • Conduct interviews and engage with members of the public, businesses and partner organisations

This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will receive training and support to develop your knowledge, skills and confidence, enabling you to build a rewarding career in environmental enforcement.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be confident dealing with challenging situations and difficult conversations
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be organised, methodical and able to manage your own workload
  • Demonstrate a high standard of customer care
  • Be competent in using Microsoft Office applications
  • Hold a full UK driving licence

Experience in enforcement, investigations or a customer-facing role would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
