Environmental Sustainability Analyst
We’re looking for an Environmental Sustainability Analyst to join our CSR team.
The Environmental Sustainability Analyst is the analytical engine of the Sustainability & Responsible Business team's carbon workstream. You'll build and maintain AVK's carbon footprint data, help turn strategy into a working carbon reduction plan, and support the growing stream of client, tender and contractual information requests, alongside our mandatory reporting (SECR, Achilles, ISO, EcoVadis).
This work is increasingly commercial: timely, high-quality responses directly influence tenders, contracts and client relationships. You'll provide the analysis, data and first drafts behind these deliverables, with strategic and commercial direction from the Senior Environmental Sustainability Manager, and you'll join with a clear, prioritised workplan already in place.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in building and maintaining AVK's Scope 1, 2 & 3 carbon footprint (via Watershed), underpinned by clean, quality-checked activity data
- Support project-specific carbon reporting for client sites using our standard template
- Help build AVK's carbon reduction plan and progress identified initiatives as capacity allows
- Manage day-to-day information requests, tender/ESG submissions, and first-draft data prep
- Prioritise incoming requests by commercial impact, balancing speed and quality
- Develop AVK's embodied carbon dataset and maintain reusable ESG/tender materials
- Support Sales with evidence-based sustainability positioning, informed by market and regulatory monitoring
- Support delivery of SECR, Achilles, ISO 14001/45001 and EcoVadis requirements
- Assist in building the data rigour needed to move EcoVadis from Bronze to Silver
- Build cross-functional relationships (Legal, Supply Chain, Finance, Compliance, People) to embed sustainability into BAU
- Translate carbon/compliance detail for non-specialist audiences
- Build processes to reduce repeated manual effort, using AI tools where they improve speed/quality
- Manage admin processes and contribute to system improvements

Requirements
- Build and maintain AVK's Scope 1, 2 & 3 carbon footprint in Watershed, underpinned by clean, quality-checked activity data, and use it to strengthen target-setting and progress the carbon reduction plan across all three scopes (SBTi experience advantageous)
- Assist in developing AVK's embodied carbon dataset and project-specific carbon reporting for client sites
- Manage day-to-day information requests, ESG questionnaires and tender submissions, prioritising by commercial impact and preparing accurate first drafts, and maintain reusable ESG and tender materials that support Sales with evidence-based sustainability positioning
- Support delivery of SECR, Achilles, ISO 14001/45001 and EcoVadis requirements, including the data rigour needed to move EcoVadis from Bronze to Silver
- Monitor client expectations, market developments and regulatory change to identify emerging risks and opportunities
- Build cross-functional relationships (Legal, Supply Chain, Finance, Compliance, People, Operations) to embed sustainability into business as usual, translating technical detail for non-specialist audiences
- Improve team efficiency through scalable processes and templates, using AI and digital tools where they improve speed and quality
