Your new company

My client is delivering one of the UK's most significant infrastructure and energy projects, playing a vital role in the country's long-term energy security and net-zero ambitions.

Due to continued project growth, they are seeking an experienced Environmental & Sustainability Manager to provide leadership across a major construction programme within a highly regulated environment.

This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally significant project, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to drive environmental excellence and sustainability performance throughout construction, commissioning, and handover phases.

Your new role

As Environmental & Sustainability Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of environmental professionals whilst ensuring full compliance with environmental permits, licences, consents and regulatory commitments across a large-scale infrastructure project.

Reporting to the Head of Site Compliance, you will act as a key interface between project delivery teams, contractors, regulators and senior stakeholders, providing expert environmental leadership throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing a multidisciplinary Environment & Sustainability team.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental permits, licences, consents and ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Driving environmental and sustainability performance across project teams and contractors.
  • Overseeing environmental inspections, monitoring programmes and assurance activities.
  • Managing environmental risks and ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
  • Leading environmental investigations and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for environmental regulators and external stakeholders.
  • Developing environmental KPIs, reporting frameworks and performance metrics.
  • Supporting project delivery teams through construction, installation, commissioning and operational handover.
  • Promoting a culture of environmental excellence and best practice across the project and supply chain.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
