About the Infrastructure Team
Our Infrastructure team brings design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide - combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.
The Role
You will be working in the Infrastructure OU based in St Neots in where we are working with National Highways on a £679 million transformation of the A428, unlocking faster, smoother journeys between Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridge. This project will save precious commuting time, cut carbon emissions and open up long-term opportunities for local people and businesses.
We are currently looking for a Environmental Sustainability Manager who will assure, deliver and drive environmental excellence through the latter stage of construction and handover on a major road project in East Anglia.

Responsibilities
As The Environmental Sustainability Manager, You Will
- Implementation of excellent environmental management on a major infrastructure scheme.
- Ability to identify, appraise and communicate environmental risks and opportunities.
- Management of environmental specialists, consultants and suppliers to develop environmental management plans and discharge environmental commitments and requirements.
- Collaboration with customer and Scheme Delivery Partners on completion and close out of environmental management systems, communication of good practice, lessons learnt and innovation.
- Assist the Infrastructure Lead Environmental Sustainability Manager and wider Infrastructure environmental sustainability team deliver best practice initiatives and improvement projects.
Requirements
We Are Looking For
- Degree level in appropriate Environmental/ relevant discipline or relevant experience.
- Previous construction industry experience or relevant environmental experience in a similar sector.
- Experience in delivery of environmental management in major construction projects - particularly at the planning stage.
- Full Membership with IEMA or similar professional membership.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel projects/ contracts in region.
