Environmental Sustainability Manager
Location: Suffolk, London, Bristol or Manchester (3 days a week minimum in the office)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Travel: Regular travel to Sizewell C offices including Suffolk and London (typically monthly), plus occasional travel between Bristol and Manchester offices
Salary: From £85,000 + Bonus + Benefits including;
- Bonus up to 10%
- 28 days annual leave, plus bank holidays

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Sustainability Director, the Environmental Sustainability Manager will be a key member of the Sustainability Leadership Team, leading the development and delivery of Sizewell C's Environmental Sustainability strategy and driving sustainability performance across the project.
We're looking for a proven sustainability leader who can bring people together, influence at all levels of the business, and translate ambitious sustainability goals into practical, measurable results.
You'll provide strategic leadership and deep technical expertise across multiple sustainability disciplines including carbon, circular economy, water, responsible sourcing, and BREEAM Infrastructure certification. You'll also play a critical role in shaping business decisions, influencing senior stakeholders and Board-level leaders, and ensuring sustainability remains embedded across every aspect of the project.

What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the further development and implementation of the Sizewell C Environmental Sustainability agenda
- Contributing to the strategic direction, culture and performance of sustainability across the business
- Providing technical leadership across carbon, circular economy, water, responsible sourcing, and BREEAM Infrastructure certification
- Managing sustainability programmes from inception through to successful delivery
- Influencing and engaging senior leaders, regulators, suppliers and key project stakeholders
- Leading a high-performing team
What We're Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate strong leadership, excel at building collaborative relationships across organisations, and bring substantial technical expertise and credibility.
Essential
- Demonstrable leadership experience, including leading high-performing teams and developing people
- Significant experience within major infrastructure, construction, or other complex capital projects
- Significant proven experience in environmental sustainability
- Deep technical expertise across environmental sustainability disciplines, including carbon management and PAS2080, water, circular economy, sustainable procurement, and BREEAM Infrastructure
- Proven experience developing and implementing sustainability strategies and translating them into measurable outcomes
- Experience influencing senior executives, regulators, clients, and external stakeholders
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative and engaging leadership style, with the ability to bring teams together and drive delivery
- Degree qualification in Environmental Science or a related discipline
- Membership of professional organisation such as ISEP, ICE, CIWEM or an equivalent professional body

Desirable
- Experience managing regulatory, investor or sustainability commitments
- Experience working in highly regulated environments, such as nuclear, energy, utilities, transport, water or other nationally significant infrastructure sectors
