Environmental & Sustainability Manager | Corby (with travel to Scunthorpe and occasionally Ireland) | £55,000–£65,000
Fancy a sustainability role where what you do on Monday actually changes how the business operates by Friday?
My client is a major UK food manufacturer supplying all the big supermarkets. They’ve split environmental and sustainability out from health and safety because it’s that important now. That means this isn’t a “tick-box” role - you’ll be the person shaping how they hit carbon, water, waste and packaging targets, keeping accreditations like EcoVadis and ESOS on track, and making sure sites from Corby to Northern Ireland are working in a way that actually matches the sustainability story they tell their customers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You’ll report into the Group Head of H&S, but you’ll have real board visibility. Some days you’ll be on the shop floor sorting out recycling bins and ways of working with site teams; other days you’ll be pulling together data for senior leaders or presenting to the board. It’s proper end-to-end: strategy, compliance, culture change and everything in between.
They’re not hung up on a specific background. What they care about is someone who can talk to anyone - from line operators to directors - build relationships, challenge constructively and drive change across a complex, multi-site operation. If you’ve got experience in environmental/sustainability (ideally in manufacturing or food), know your way around KPIs and frameworks like EcoVadis/ESOS/M2030, and want a role where you’re needed from day one, this is it.
