About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our exciting and fast paced social sustainability team!
Working across the business, you will lead on the company Net Zero strategy and will develop and deliver Environmental Sustainability programmes to support our vision to be recognised as best-in-class for Environmental Sustainability, both internally and to our customers.
This role involves working with internal stakeholders, our customers, and our supply chain to determine how our company can reduce our environmental footprint & GHG emissions whilst supporting customers to reduce their emissions through responsible equipment hire. The role is highly collaborative.
Role Responsibilities
- Support the UK & Europe business Net Zero Strategy.
- Track and report on metrics to demonstrate progress, internally and externally.
- Support the Transportation & Fleet teams to identify and implement a carbon reduction strategy.
- Support the Facilities team to identify and implement a property carbon reduction strategy.
- Support the Asset team to identify low carbon technologies and work alongside customers to support their selection of low carbon equipment.
- Support the Procurement team in the development and implementation of the Sustainable Supply Chain Strategy.
- Support the Head of Performance Standards in maintaining the company ISO 50001 accreditation, whilst identifying best practice and areas for continual improvement & Manage the Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) requirements.
- Support the SBR Bid & Tenders.
- Support the development of communication plans and strategies related to Net Zero, looking at ways in which to engage staff, suppliers and customers.
- Represent the business at specified industry forums and customer events.
- Keep abreast of latest industry innovations, legislative changes, best practice and sustainability leadership.

To succeed in this role you will bring the following skill-set and behaviours:
- Degree in Sustainability or a related field.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of carbon reporting.
- Able to work independently on your own initiative.
- Able to effectively represent the business on Customer forums, industry Federations.
- Able to work effectively as part of a wider team.
- Good communication skills at all levels.
- Methodical approach to problem solving with an eye for detail.
- Confident using AI and digital tools to improve efficiency, reporting, insight and communication, with the judgement to check accuracy and use outputs responsibly.
- Hold a full driving licence & willingness to travel throughout the country.
