Overview
TRC is seeking an experienced Environmental Technician to join our Building Science and Industrial Hygiene practice in Exton, PA to conduct surveys and abatement oversight for asbestos, lead-based paint and other industrial hygiene projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform project oversight and coordination with contractors.
- Operate and maintain instruments including sampling pumps, calibrators, and microscopes.
- Collect samples as required by various regulatory agencies, complete data sheets, chain of custody forms, and prepare samples for shipment to laboratory.
- Maintain daily logs of activities related to project work.
- Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agency representatives.
- Read project specifications and drawings.
- Prepare reports.
- Travel throughout PA, NJ and DE expected.
- Possess outstanding verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

Qualifications
- 4 – 7 years of experience in the hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene industry is required.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
- Prior experience in various aspects of asbestos or lead abatement projects.
- Prior experience in performing construction site and facility safety inspections.
- Must be able to read and understand project specifications and drawings.
- Must be a good communicator and a team player.
- Intuitive and creative thinker. Understanding of their surroundings and reason the services are being provided. A consultative demeanor and ability to work with customers / clients and offer solutions when needed.
- Adaptability and flexibility to various work schedules and situations related to emergency response scenarios.
- The candidate must hold or have the qualifications to obtain the following certifications:
- EPA Accredited Asbestos Building Inspector/Management Planner
- Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Asbestos Building Inspector
- City of Philadelphia Asbestos Investigator and Asbestos Project Inspector
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Training
- OSHA HAZWOPER 40-Hour Training
- Must have NIOSH 582 or equivalent training and have passed the Asbestos Analysts Testing (AAT) proficiency program
- Ability to carry and climb ladders and being able to use hand and power tools.
- Be able to wear a respirator, safety harness and other safety equipment as needed
- Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable means of transportation.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical and motor vehicle records check

Compensation
In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Salary Range: USD $27.00 - USD $36.05 /Hr.
Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
