An amazing opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Test Engineer to work within the Engineering team enabling engineering product development and qualification by providing a range of test services to support the advancement of our technology. Test services include Vibration, Shock, Climatic and Environmental Stress Screening Services.

What you will do:

Supporting the maintenance of our processes and procedures to AS9100 and will be responsible for:

  • Organising and prioritising jobs coming into the laboratory.
  • Interpreting test results and then producing and maintaining a good standard of laboratory test reports.
  • Programming of vibration controllers in order to carry out a range of vibration testing including Random, Sine and mixed mode vibration stimuli.
  • Carrying out electro/mechanical shock testing using a dynamic shaker or through traditional mechanical shock methods.
  • Carrying out a range of climatics testing – Thermal cycling, Thermal shock, Humidity, Combined temperature & Humidity.

Other responsibilities include supporting the maintenance of our UKAS accreditation to BS EN ISO 17025 and for this will include:

  • Developing and maintaining in house procedures.
  • Assessing equipment calibrations and measurement uncertainties to ensure that capability in the accredited tests is maintained.
  • Driving continuous improvement of capabilities, knowledge and processes within the laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Understanding of and experience of working to ISO17025 is essential.
  • Minimum of Two years’ experience of working in a Lab environment is also essential – ideally working in an Environmental Test facility & Development testing.
  • Knowledge of BS EN 60668 & MIL STD 810 standards are highly desirable.
  • Educated to a minimum of Degree level.
  • High level of attention to detail – Writing reports and results accurately.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong communications skills.
