Who we are looking for

The Alpha Professional Services team in the UK is looking for a qualified individual to lead our environment and data strategy workstream. This individual must bring strong experience in end-to-end environment strategy, architecture, and workflow design, data analysis, and business system flows to create and execute environment designs for our industry-leading front-to-back client servicing platform. The successful candidate must be skilled in managing multi-year programs consisting of complex business models and flows across front, middle, and back office operating models in both an insourced and outsourced model. The successful candidate must have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, technical architecture knowledge, and an understanding of global portfolio management, trading, and compliance functions across asset classes. This position will interact with, and demand exposure to the highest levels of executive management within State Street and within our clients' organizations.

The team you will be joining is a part of a global, cross-divisional group supporting State Street AlphaSM. State Street AlphaSM redefines the common definition of ‘alpha’ to mean powering better performance and outcomes at every point on the investment lifecycle and is the first open platform from a single provider that connects the front, middle, and back office. It harmonizes data, technology, and services across trusted providers to help our clients better manage their businesses.

What you will be responsible for

  • Managing end-to-end environment and data strategy programs that onboard new clients onto State Street’s front-to-back platform
  • Leading regional and functional teams supporting workflow analysis, data analysis, requirements analysis for current and future state models, and architecture
  • Leading the creation and delivery of internal and client-facing documents (strategy documents, playbooks, architecture documentation, data insights, etc.)
  • Navigating complex client relationships, building strong business relationships, and managing expectations with client stakeholders
  • Leading various stages of the implementation lifecycle across multiple simultaneous global clients
  • Supporting business development and sales efforts through consultative client engagement
  • Providing regular status updates and supporting program management reports as needed

What we value

  • Strong analytical, organizational skills, and team management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and expertise in documentation, reporting, and presentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, globally structured, and team-based environment, as well as work independently.
  • Proven experience in Program management, stakeholder management, client engagement, and expectation management across the project lifecycle.
  • Experience in Agile Methodology and tools (e.g., JIRA, Rally, RTC) preferred.
  • Front/Middle office platforms experience is useful.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above. 15+ years of financial industry experience across front office functionality, along with middle (IBOR) and back-office systems, services, and data domains.
  • Technology background and CFA/FRM charters are highly appreciated.
  • Strong environment strategy and architecture design experience.
  • Strong experience in data mining, ETL experience platforms, data visualization/reporting/presentation tools. Exposure to messaging protocols, public/private cloud platforms, and EDMs.
  • Experience integrating with other industry providers/consulting partners to promote platform interoperability (e.g., Deloitte, Accenture, PwC, Bloomberg PORT, Charles River Development, BRS Aladdin, SimCorp Dimension, Factset, Fidessa Minerva, Eze Software).
