Hybrid role, happy to talk flexible working

The Opportunity

QBE Europe is currently recruiting a Data and AI Governance Manager to join a well-established Data & Analytics team in our London office. QBE EO is on an ambitious journey to strengthen its Data, Analytics and AI capabilities, underpinned by enterprise-wide Data & AI governance. As the use of advanced analytics and AI grows, strong governance, accountability, and regulatory alignment are essential. The Data & AI Governance Manager plays a key role in embedding these practices across QBE Europe, supporting the delivery of the Data & AI strategy to ensure data is managed consistently, risks are controlled, and policies are applied in practice. Working closely with business, technology, risk, and Group teams, you will drive the adoption of governance processes, tools, and ways of working, ensuring data is well understood, properly governed, and used responsibly.

Your new role

  • Support the development and lead the execution of the Data & AI Governance strategy and roadmap, embedding governance frameworks, controls, and standards across the data and AI lifecycle.
  • Lead the adoption and ongoing maturity of data governance tooling (Collibra), increasing adoption across business domains, and embedding consistent, scalable ways of working through targeted communications, and training programmes.
  • Establish and embed clear data ownership and stewardship models, defining roles, responsibilities, and accountability across business and technology teams.
  • Define and track governance KPIs and success metrics, delivering clear, actionable reporting and insights to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Drive data risk management activities, including control design, RCSA support, issue remediation, and strengthening data risk awareness.
  • Continuously enhance data governance frameworks, processes, and standards, ensuring they remain practical, business-aligned, and deliver measurable improvements in data quality and control.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships, partnering with business, technology, risk, and data teams to drive aligned outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver clear, audience-specific communications and training, ensuring policies, standards, and procedures are well understood and consistently applied.
  • Chair and facilitate data governance forums, councils, and working groups, driving effective decision-making, prioritisation, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise and Group policies and regulatory expectations, including Data Management, AI Governance, Model Risk, and End User Computing standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
