Job Description
EPEC Hub Coordinator, Grade 6 (£39,276-£42,771pa)
Service Area: Early Help and Targeted Family Support Service, Starting Well
About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Early Help and Targeted Family Support Service, for a full-time EPEC Hub Coordinator for an initial one-year contract.
Empowering Parents Empowering Communities (EPEC) is a unique peer-led approach to supporting parents and carers in Havering. EPEC has been running in Havering since 2017. It has made a huge impact on the lives of local families and, as a result, is highly valued by our service. By training and coaching parents and carers to become group facilitators, they are able to share their experiences and skills with others whilst also delivering an evidence-based programme of useful techniques and methods. We hope to improve children's self-esteem and confidence, prioritise parental wellbeing, build positive relationships, and explore parenting strategies that work for families.

This role requires day-to-day running of the EPEC Hub, ensuring that it is delivering in line with annual targets and within budget, and overseeing and supporting the cohort of parent volunteers. In turn, the candidate will have the chance to strengthen their project management skills, to experience supervision of volunteers, and to watch the impact that EPEC can have for parents and their children.

About You
The successful candidate will need diploma-level education or equivalent. Being trained in at least one evidence-based parenting programme is desirable but not essential.
You will have experience of training or facilitation to a wide range of audiences, including evidence-based parenting interventions.
You will have worked in a multi-disciplinary setting and liaised with a network of stakeholders/partner agencies. You will have worked with parents experiencing social disadvantage, volunteers and a variety of different communities, understanding the needs that different families and communities have, with a knowledge of best practice and current legislation.
You will need some experience of supervision, and assessing, monitoring and evaluating your work to meet local priorities and targets. Your excellent communication skills will be essential to your success, as well as your ability to manage your time and workload with minimal support.
