Job Title: Epilepsy Lead Nurse
Contract Type: Permanent
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to lead our epilepsy nursing team.
The successful candidate will work closely with our lead consultant to help shape the service we deliver to our patients and will work with their team to review the service offered and implement novel ways of working.
The post covers all UHS activity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the Southampton and Portsmouth services.
The ability to implement change is essential for this role. We are seeing an ever-increasing number of patients on our service. New ways of working will be necessary to see them all in a timely way.

Person specification
Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
- Registered nurse on relevant part of NMC register
- Educated to master’s degree level or equivalent level of knowledge to be assessed through evidence of relevant specialty training, experience, or portfolio
- Post graduate specialty specialist training
- Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development
- Extensive clinical experience of working within chosen specialty
- Previous experience of working at band 7 level
- Post Registration experience and proven evidence of leadership or change management
Desirable criteria
- Psychological Assessment course
- Teaching and presentation aptitude or courses
