Working as part of the multidisciplinary Digital Services team, you will play a key role in developing pharmacy functionality within the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR). You will help shape medicines-related processes, enhance clinical workflows and ensure digital solutions support the safe, effective and efficient delivery of patient care.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
As EPR Pharmacy Configuration Manager, you will provide specialist pharmacy and digital expertise, taking responsibility for the development, maintenance and ongoing improvement of pharmacy functionality within the EPR.
Working closely with pharmacy teams, clinicians, EPR analysts, Digital Services colleagues and system suppliers, you will identify opportunities to enhance medicines-management processes and ensure solutions meet clinical, operational and regulatory requirements.
You will coordinate system testing and upgrades, oversee pharmacy-related EPR projects, investigate and resolve system issues, and contribute to effective change control, documentation, reporting and audit processes.
The role also includes providing leadership and line management to EPR analysts, supporting their development and helping to build a knowledgeable and effective team.
You will work autonomously as a key member of the wider multidisciplinary EPR and Digital Services team, managing competing priorities and building strong relationships with clinical, operational and digital colleagues.
With responsibility for the Willow/Pharmacy workstream, you will use your specialist pharmacy knowledge and digital expertise to ensure the EPR continues to meet the needs of patients, pharmacy services and clinical teams.

Key responsibilities
You Will
- Provide specialist pharmacy and EPR advice across the Trust.
- Lead the configuration, maintenance and ongoing development of pharmacy-related EPR functionality.
- Review medicines-management processes and identify opportunities to enhance safety, efficiency and user experience.
- Ensure digital developments comply with medicines legislation, clinical safety requirements and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Coordinate testing for system changes, upgrades and interfaces to ensure solutions are safe, secure and robust.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacy teams, clinicians, EPR analysts, Digital Services colleagues and system suppliers.
- Lead pharmacy-related EPR projects and support the professional development of analysts within the team.
- Investigate and resolve system issues, escalating significant risks when required.
- Maintain effective change control, documentation, reporting, auditing and appropriate system access.
- Champion effective use of the EPR to support medicines optimisation, reduce prescribing errors and help the Trust maximise the benefits of its digital technology.

Essential
Essential criteria
- Pharmacy degree (Masters level 4 years)
- Registered with GPHC
- Postgraduate Clinical diploma or equivalent
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
Desirable criteria
- PRINCE2 Foundation Level
- Epic Certification
- UKCPA Membership
- RC membership
- Registered as an Independent Pharmacist Prescriber
Experience
Essential criteria
- Professional knowledge acquired through vocational master's degree in pharmacy (4 years) plus pre-registration training plus specialist knowledge acquired through diploma level
- Experience of managing projects or areas with complex working practices
- Previous NHS experience
- Experience of supporting change management
Desirable criteria
- Experience of Epic configuration
- Experience of working as part of a large complex digital change programme
- Experience of delivering benefits through the implementation of technology
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, plan and manage complex activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels in the organisation, including clinical staff, managerial staff and senior/board level executives, as well as with external suppliers
- Communicates highly complex drug or medicine related information to prescribers and clinicians, who may challenge advice
- Extensive knowledge of IT systems and software programmes such as Epic, Omnicell, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to resolve problems and make decisions based on complex facts or situations using the appropriate analysis, interpretation, or comparison of a range of options
- Ability to concentrate for long periods of time on complex data and process analysis
- Policy/Service Development: Propose policy or service changes that may also impact on other areas
- Proposes changes for own specialist area and those that may impact on other disciplines
- Able to work collaboratively with own team members as well as those in other application teams
- Skills for analysing complex/highly complex facts, interpretation and comparison of options
- Confident in working with, negotiating with and motivating clinical staff, medical consultants and/or other senior managers
