Shape Institutional Culture & Drive Real Change at York

At the University of York, we believe that an inclusive environment is fundamental to academic excellence and vibrant community life. As our Equality Charters Manager, you will sit at the heart of our strategy, leading our institutional submissions for key equality frameworks including Athena Swan, the Race Equality Charter, and other sector-wide initiatives. This is an influential, highly collaborative role where your data analysis, strategy, and policy recommendations will directly shape University leadership decisions and foster long-term cultural change.

What You Will Do

  • Lead Strategic Charter Submissions: Project-manage complex, institutional-wide applications for Athena Swan, Race Equality Charter, and emerging sector standards.
  • Turn Data into Action: Analyse qualitative and quantitative EDI data to uncover insights, monitor progress, and establish evidence-based action plans.
  • Advise Senior Leadership: Provide subject-matter expertise to senior leaders, faculty heads, and steering groups to embed EDI best practices into daily operations.
  • Engage & Collaborate: Partner with academic departments, professional services, and staff networks to build consensus and drive engagement across the university community.
  • Draft Key Documents: Produce clear, high-impact reports, policies, and strategic documents for executive boards and external assessment bodies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
