Due to an internal transfer, we have a vacancy for an experienced Equine Groom / Patient Care Assistant, to take that next step and join our busy veterinary clinic in Wokingham, Berkshire.

About The Role

This is an opportunity to provide nursing care within the clinic and out on the road (a full driving licence is required). A detailed training plan will be given to enable you to assist the veterinary team in daily procedures including:

  • caring for inpatients to the highest standard
  • working in our in-house lab, running bloods tests and faecal testing
  • elective standing and general anaesthetic surgeries in our theatre
  • extensive lameness examinations and dental procedures
  • various diagnostics procedures such as radiography, ultrasound and endoscopies in the clinic and at client yards
  • and of course, cleaning, stock control, admin and more cleaning!

Role Details

Location: Straight Mile Farm, Maidenhead Road, Wokingham, Berkshire, RG40 5RW

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 45 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Shift hours 7am to 5pm or 8am to 6pm plus minimal out of hours rota

Who We're Looking For

  • You will be able to demonstrate 5 star stable management skills and be confident in working with a range of horses
  • You will be passionate about horse welfare, have a high attention to detail, be hardworking and thrive on being part of a busy team
  • Ideally you will live within 20 mins drive of the clinic or accommodation may be available onsite
  • A full driving licence is essential for this role
