At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

Our practice is spread across two sites at Baschurch and Wrexham, enabling us to provide 24-hour veterinary care across a wide geographical area. Fyrnwy Equine Group comprises a large specialist equine hospital alongside a comprehensive ambulatory service, delivering exceptional care to horses throughout Shropshire, North Wales and Cheshire.

Practice Highlights

As an RCVS-accredited practice, we are passionate about clinical excellence and delivering a professional, efficient and compassionate service to every patient. Our caseload is incredibly varied, ranging from elite competition and breeding horses to hunters, leisure horses and much-loved family ponies.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

This is an excellent opportunity for a vet with a keen interest in orthopaedics and equine dentistry, while also enjoying the diversity of ambulatory equine practice.

Your workload will include both routine and emergency ambulatory visits, including:

  • Lameness investigations
  • Poor performance work-ups
  • Routine and advanced dentistry
  • Vaccinations and preventative healthcare
  • Wound management
  • Colic investigations
  • Field surgery
  • General ambulatory medicine

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
