AVP / VP Quantitative Strategist, Equities - London

I'm partnering with a leading global investment firm seeking a highly analytical Quantitative Strategist to help shape the next generation of equity investing through the application of data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

This is a rare opportunity to sit directly alongside Portfolio Managers and Equity Analysts, using AI-driven research, alternative data and quantitative techniques to generate differentiated investment insights across global equity markets. The role is designed for individuals who are equally comfortable discussing company fundamentals and building advanced analytical solutions that improve investment decision-making.

The Opportunity

AI and machine learning are becoming increasingly important sources of competitive advantage within investment management. In this role, you will help drive that evolution by identifying new ways to harness data, automate research workflows and uncover investment opportunities that may not be visible through traditional fundamental analysis alone.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
