Operations Specialist – Equity Settlements (sell side)
Rate: £400 - 500 per day inside IR35
Location: London, UK
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Start Date: Immediate
Length: 12 months
About the Role
We are looking for an Operations Specialist – Equity Settlements to join our Equity Operations team in London.
The role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day settlement of equity trades across UK, European, North American and other international markets.
You will work closely with trading desks, clients, counterparties and internal teams to ensure trades are matched and settled efficiently, while identifying and managing any operational risks or settlement issues.
This is a fast-paced role that would suit someone with experience in equity settlements, trade matching, reconciliations and cash management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily settlement of equity trades across international markets
- Monitor trade matching, settlement and failed trades
- Investigate and resolve settlement issues and exceptions
- Manage daily stock and cash reconciliations
- Process and monitor cash payments and funding requirements
- Identify and manage operational risks and settlement exposure
- Work closely with traders, clients, counterparties and internal teams
- Ensure clients have the correct trade instructions in place
- Escalate issues where required and help find practical solutions
- Support the wider Operations team and provide cover when required

What We’re Looking For
- Experience in Equity Operations, Settlements or Trade Support
- Good understanding of trade matching, settlement and failed trades
- Background in Equities Settlements
- Experience from a Sell side Firm i.e. Broker dealer firms
- Background working with high volumes daily and experience with Gloss system/equities based is optimal.
- Knowledge of international markets
- Understanding of stock and cash reconciliations
- Strong relationship-building skills when working with traders, clients and counterparties

- HSBC cash systems
- CITIBANK systems
- Cash equities
- Other financial instruments
Education
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or another numerate subject is desirable.
