Role Summary
Responsible for executing orders and trading in EMEA for established clients, while developing and supporting new client relationships across investment management firms, plan sponsors and other financial intermediaries.
The role executes EMEA and international equity transactions for Investment Managers, Transition Events and Execution Services clients; implements advanced trading strategies in line with Russell’s best execution guidelines; and operates with a high degree of autonomy in support of global execution and trading. It also contributes to the continued development of best execution through pre-trade and post-trade analysis, trading systems, execution venues and the overall product offering to clients.
Responsibilities
Internal Relationship Management
Communicate effectively with Investment Managers, Portfolio Managers, clients, Russell Implementation Services, external Investment Managers, market participants and client-service colleagues to support efficient delivery and strong client outcomes.
Trade Execution & Best Execution
Execute program and/or single-stock equity transactions and contribute to the continued development of best execution through demonstrable pre-trade and post-trade analysis and effective use of execution venues. Act as a member of the EMEA trading team executing a broad array of trading strategies, from global trading mandates to more focused mandates. Key to this will be familiarity with algorithmic trading and execution, Direct to Market execution, etc.

Trading Systems & Operational Scale
Interface with Portfolio Accounting Systems and Order Management Systems and operate advanced trade order management systems and market-facing execution platforms. Create informational efficiencies around straight-through-processing requirements and develop practices that support operational and trading scale.
Global Trading, Revenue & Client Retention
Support Russell Trading globally, including revenue and client-retention objectives, quarterly objectives and resource planning. Work effectively with client relationship management, customer service coordinators and administrative support to deliver agreed objectives.
Strategy & Product Development
Participate in Russell Trading strategic discussions and planning. Contribute product-development ideas and take an active role in marketplace and promotional marketing activity.
Risk Management & Best Practices
Interact with numerous clients, investment managers/portfolio managers and execute program and/or single line transactions, specifically focused in the equity trading markets. Continue to learn and implement the established best practice procedures to ensure trading strategies conform to Russell’s best execution guidelines. Interface with various systems and operate multiple market facing execution technologies.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
Execute EMEA and international equity transactions and implement advanced trading strategies in line with Russell’s best execution guidelines. Establish and maintain best-practice procedures supporting consistent, high-quality execution.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related area.
- Postgraduate qualification preferred.
- General Securities Licences required; trading licences preferred; CFA certification preferred.
- Expected to study and receive SIE and Series 7, 55, 66 licenses.
- Previous equity/fixed income trading experience in the brokerage/trading industry.
- Proficiency with securities-related applications, including portfolio OMS, trade order management systems, trading platforms and FIX connectivity.
