GE Vernova is looking for an exceptional Erection & Commissioning Supervisor to join our Construction & Commissioning team based in Stafford, UK.

Role Overview

The Erection & Commissioning Supervisor will act as the vital technical link between our factory, site operators, and customers to ensure seamless power transformer installation. You will serve as the primary on-site authority, providing hands-on technical guidance, resolving complex challenges, and ensuring that every project is delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

Your Impact

  • Leading the technical installation and commissioning of power transformers, ensuring all site activities align with global engineering and safety standards.
  • Resolving complex technical challenges on-site through independent judgment and proactive troubleshooting, minimizing downtime and project delays.
  • Creating essential site documentation, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and technical reports to maintain full project compliance.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineering teams, and customers to coordinate site activities and ensure total project success.
  • Developing the capabilities of regional site teams by providing technical training and mentoring to ensure industry-leading performance.

Special Role Requirements

  • Able to travel extensively (approximately 60%) to and from projects and various field assignments.
  • Willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.
  • Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.

What Success Looks Like In This Role

You should be a hands-on, solution-oriented electrical specialist with a passion for high-impact infrastructure projects.

  • The ability to work independently on-site, making critical technical decisions and managing multiple stakeholder expectations under pressure.
  • The capability to interpret complex electrical schematics and apply them to the hands-on installation and commissioning of large-scale power transformers.
  • An understanding of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, with a proven track record of enforcing compliance in demanding industrial environments.
  • An expertise in power transformer technology, including testing, troubleshooting, and field-based engineering processes.
  • A keen interest in sharing knowledge and elevating team standards through mentorship and technical coordination.

A formal education in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification) is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

Where And How You'll Work

This is a permanent, site-based position. While you will be performing your duties at project sites for approximately 60% of your time, you will benefit from a hybrid working model for office and home-based tasks when not on assignment.
